On
November 19th, 2004, I had the rare chance to meet fellow
PEUGEOT enthusiasts in Jakarta, Indonesia, only weeks before
I learned about the 504
Community from Budi
Nurrachmad.

Budi
and I arranged for a meeting by email, and only days later,
Budi, Nelson and Anda, picked me up from my hotel at 3 p.m.
using Budi's 504. Imagine my surprize when I found out that
so many owners turned up with their cars! A street full of
504s and also one 505

Of course we first had a chat. It was great meeting Hadi
Taruna and Nelson,
whose cars are featured on my website for quite a time. I knew
these guys only from emails, and now we were able to "talk
PEUGEOT" personally

This
504 belonging to Arif Salehudin [2nd from left] is equipped
with a unique front grill, featureing round fog lights. This
grill was definitely professionally manufactured. Does anyone
know more?

After
one hour or so, we drove to the area of Mega Kuningan BD to
arrange the cars and take plenty of pictures. But we didn't
had as much time as we had liked, because a security car approached
us, asking us to forward a formal permission letter for taking
pictures surrounding Mega Kuningan area. Well, we just left
eventually.....

of Budi's son.

I
liked this one best: Danny Delian's 1982 504 Break, dressed
as a tradionial "Woody". Great idea!

The

were we met with Iwan Gunawan [2nd

So
many 504s sitting in a scrapyard are a seldom sight for any
eurpoean PEUGEOT fan. We counted at least 8 cars, and the occasional
304...

I
even got an acrylic "504 COMMUNITY" logo as a gift,
which now is on display in my living room (to be pictured here
soon). My day in Jakarta together with fellow PEUGEOT friends
really was a fantastic event that I won't forget! Thank you
to all who made this special day possible!
